August 23, 2013 - The world of motorcycle trick jumping just got a little more crowded with this game by developer/publisher Balloon 27. Hill Bill features a hillbilly named Bill who strives to be like Evil Knievel. His actions in Hill Bill have him going from jumping over homemade ramps and performing tricks in his backyard to road tripping to show off his massive skills.

With a very cartoonish style Hill Bill is good looking enough to catch your eye, but once you start playing it you may wish you passed on it. There are plenty of tricks from Superman, to flips and wheelies to keep you entertained. They allow you to back up the bike so you can get a faster run up to the ramp. They also allow you to pan backwards and forwards on the track to see where the jump is, how far you have to go and what obstacles are ahead of you.

The ability to do all of that doesnít help you much as the game requires you to swipe your fingers in certain patterns that they will teach you to perform specific tricks. The game doesnít register the swiping motions that often, which will frustrate you as you fail over and over. I found it hard to keep playing the game far after the opening two worlds due to this fact. I tried swiping at the top, swiping where the bike was, swiping below and every once in a while it seem to work.

With a price tag of $1.99 there are way better games in the App Store that arenít as frustrating as this one. Hopefully they can update the game and fix this issue as it ruins a perfectly decent game or maybe even offer it for free with an in-game purchase for the remaining levels. Either way I suggest you wait or skip this game as itís not worth the $1.99. It has decent graphics and cool tricks, but the experience is ruined by it not registering your swipe motions.
