Sony Rewards Adopters Of Vita Cross Play With Free PS3/Vita DLC And Games
February 16, 2012 - As Sony inches ever closer to the February 22, 2012 Western (North America and Europe) launch date of the PlayStation Vita, they have revealed a deal that will certainly please those who own a PS3 and plan on picking up the PlayStation Vita. Instead of making it a chore for people to jump into the Vita's Cross Play functionality, Sony is handing out incentives to entice individuals to try out the feature.
Anyone who picks up a copy of Hustle Kings for the PlayStation Vita will be reworded with a free digital copy of the PS3 version of the game, and vice versa. In the case of WipEout HD and its "HD Fury" DLC pack, owners will receive the Vita DLC versions of both at no additional charge to the consumer when the game releases this Spring.
The reason why Sony is extending these "promotional" prices to consumers is simply because there are more than 60 million PS3 worldwide and majority of them picked up owning either WipEout and/or Hustle Kings. This will allow the online install base grow for both platforms, while at the same time entice gamers to pick up the handheld without having to worry about spending extra money for games.
